Albanian Flag ceremony at Queen's Park Toronto




The Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of ACDA, Laureta Vavla, participated in the ceremony of raising the Albanian flag at the Ontario Legislative Assembly in Queen's Park, organized under the auspices of the Embassy of the Republic of Albania in Ottawa, on the occasion of the 110th anniversary of Albania's Independence.

The attendees were greeted by Mr. Ermal Muça, the Ambassador of Albania to Canada, Mr. Ted Arnott, Speaker of the Ontario Legislative Assembly, Ms. Kinga Surma, Minister of Transportation, Ms. Bhutila Karpoche, Member of the Provincial Parliament, and Mr. Ted Hsu, Member of the Provincial Parliament. A congratulatory message was also conveyed by Mr. Doug Ford, the Premier of Ontario.

Ambassador Muça raised the Albanian flag to the sounds of the National Anthem, followed by "O Canada."

The ceremony continued inside the premises of the Legislative Assembly on the occasion of Albanian Heritage Month. The "Shqiponjat e Vogla" ensemble performed traditional dances from Albanian lands with mastery, while the musical duo Qazim Kallushi and Entela Galanxhi presented works by Albanian composers.
