Following the signing of the Memorandum of Cooperation between the City of Elbasan, Albania, and ACDA, we are happy to present the first project which aims to help the City increase the digital footprint of its cultural and educational institutions, and broaden the reach of these institutions beyond the physical borders of the City.
This project, starting with a website for the City’s Public Library will continue as a digitization project of all the fragile materials that are at risk of deterioration as a result of frequent use. Such collections include but not only, old newspapers, books, and journals, and make them available to the public inside the library or online.
This is only the first step into the digitization of library services, but we hope to attract the public and donors’ attention to an under-financed but very important sector.
With cooperation and support from the mayor Mr. Gledian Llatja and the director of the library Ms. Manjola Hatellari, we hope this project to be implemented soon and continue at a fast pace.
